Gardening Is The Purest Of Human Pleasures

Hello Everyone,

We are to bury Papa today. Papa has been cremated and had asked that he be placed under his favourite tree within the grounds of his and Mama's home. He loved the garden and was often to be found pottering around happily.

Obviously I am not there and this has saddened me more, but "E" phoned to tell me that they are going to bury a card I sent him that he never got to read, along with him. So sweet and lovely of "E" and Mama to include me.

"Gardening is the purest of human pleasures" - Francis Bacon.

In the garden, nothing bothers me,
Not the flutter of a butterfly, or buzz of a bee,
At one with nature, there is no gloom,
That is why the garden, is my favourite room. - Francis Bacon.

  1. Oh so sorry about your lost. I wonder what happen to you, and now I know. What a wonderful thing to do with the remains. Returning him to the earth in a useful way and close to those who loved him.

  2. Being buried in his own garden is a beautiful thing. I send you my sympathy. I pray that whenever you're in your own garden, you sense his presence beside you, loving what you do.
